For old players like me, RuneScape from developer Jagex has been with RS gold us since the beginning of the MMO type. As the main product in the MMO field for more than 20 years, RuneSpace has been committed to finding new ways to reach the growing MMO community. The latest work done by the team to achieve this goal is to publish RuneScape to mobile devices.

Chief designer Dave Osborne and product director Matt Casey took some time out of their busy schedule to sit down and answer some of my questions. These questions are about transferring my beloved MMO Challenges and rewards to the mobile field. So grab a coffee, relax, and enjoy an interview with Dave Osborne and Matt Casey.

MMORPG: Dave and Matt, thank you very much for taking the time to answer some of our questions during a very busy season I can only imagine. First of all, there is a history of actors producing RuneScape in the PC space. Can you explain the process that made you decide to provide RuneScape to mobile audiences?

Dave Osborne: Like many decisions we make, our community is an important driving force. With every news about RuneScape that we publish on social platforms, there will be dozens of replies about introducing the game to mobile devices. Obviously, our community wants to put their avatars and game worlds in their pockets, and this desire will only increase. We also learned from surveys and various other channels that our players’ lives are changing, and they don’t necessarily have past PC game screen time.

There are no other games like RuneScape on mobile devices. This is an MMO with 20 years of game updates, mature community and unlimited game world. Other MMOs have transitioned to mobile devices, but most of buy OSRS gold them are direct ports or cannot match the experience provided. With relatively simple RuneScape building blocks, and the ability to switch to a more laid-back and low-intensity gameplay, mobile games are suitable for RuneScape like gloves. Combining all these elements, it is natural for us to prioritize mobile devices.
