NBA 2K23 may still be a few months away, but even the continued success of NBA 2K22 isn't going to slow down the discussion about what we know about basketball simulators in the next article.

Release Date

A release date for NBA 2K23 has yet to be announced or confirmed, but looking back over the past few years, we have a pretty good idea of when that will happen. Considering all this, NBA 2K22, NBA 2K21 release time, we expect the release date of NBA 2K23 to be September 2022.

Trailer

We're used to seeing the first big releases of all NBA 2K installments in June or July in the form of stunning trailers. The first NBA 2K20 trailers arrived on July 1, 2019, with one in the NBA 2K21 trailer on June 11, 2020, and one in the NBA 2K21 trailer on July 14, 2021, 2K22 trailer.

As such, the NBA2K23 demo trailer will be released in late June/early July 2022. Game trailers should last for weeks.

Platform

One of the biggest unknowns approaching NBA 2K23 is whether the game will be entirely next-gen, or whether 2K will continue to make PS4 and Xbox One games. Removing previous-gen support may increase PC version requirements, but not for PS4 or Xbox One-only players. NBA2K23 will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a version may also be available on Nintendo Switch.

Cover Characters

With the NBA season just beginning and top players just starting to emerge, it's hard to tell if you'll be the star on the cover of NBA 2K23. However, some players may have had success this year.

Could King James LeBron return to the cover of the game?

The first is LeBron James. Had he entered the NBA last year this year or next, he could have been a favorite. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry remains one of the league's most dominant scorers and could be back on the cover. When it comes to new options, it could be Ja Morant who continues to prove his worth.
