Our Authors"Old School Runescape"'s RuneLite HD mod gets a major lighting upgrade
It was announced on the Patreon page of RuneLite HD that the OSRS gold linear spatial upgrade of the module called 117 will change the way light is calculated in the game. As explained in 117, "Previously, lighting was applied to colors in the gamma color space. Now, the colors are converted to linear space before lighting is applied, and then the result is converted back to gamma space before being displayed on the screen."
"This new method is physically accurate and should produce more natural lighting instead of weird, high-contrast, faded lighting, which usually gives things a plastic-like appearance. All lighting must be updated to promote This change, so please be aware that some places and things will look worse than before the update."
The update also fixes some "major visual errors" when using the RuneLite HD plug-in, but it requires a restart to take effect.
Several other changes have also been implemented, all of which can be read on the RuneLite HD Patreon page. The plug-in was released earlier this month after the creator negotiated the release with Jagex, owner of Runescape.
When Jagex allegedly told 117, it initially caused some controversy. The module has "approximately 2,000 hours of work in two years" and needs to be cancelled because the studio has its own graphics improvement module, "relatively early in the exploration phase. ".
Jagex later retracted their statement, saying that it had begun "actively exploring how we can cooperate to provide 117 plug-ins as a bridge option until our own version is ready for release."
117 It was later confirmed that "the discussions with Jagex were fruitful and cheap RuneScape gold we reached an agreement that I am very satisfied with."
