Path of Exile 3.25: Lightning Strike Deadeye build and leveling guide

Nov-12-2024 PST Category: path of exile

The Path of Exile 3.25 Lightning Strike Deadeye build will be seeing plenty of use in the game due to updates and reworks. This will be one of the best and probably most played builds for Path of Exile Settlers of Kalguur.

Patch 3.25 from Grinding Gear Games will implement sweeping balance updates and introduce various new content. Included in these balance updates is a full rework of the melee combat system, involving the removal of totems and a new banner system. Other new content includes a manageable town, a POE currency trading exchange, and the re-introduction of old league mechanics.

This guide explains how to properly build the Lightning Strike Deadeye in Path of Exile and how to level it.

Path of Exile Lightning Strike Deadeye build guide

The Lightning Strike Deadeye will be one of the best builds in Path of Exile patch 3.25 but also one of the more difficult to set up. The build can be very tight on gem slots depending on how lucky you get with gear drops, and squeezing out damage can be tricky.

Your main combat ability is Lightning Strike, and you will be primarily putting all of your gear and gem focus into buffing it. This skill converts your physical damage into lightning damage, which you need to account for when building it. It also creates projectiles based on your weapon damage, meaning it rolls a single target and AOE into one attack.

One of the most important in-depth techs of this Path of Exile build is the ability to double hit with Lightning Strike. If you use the ability from far away, you will notice a single beam of lightning striking where you slam your weapon. If you use the ability close to your target, you'll notice that you not only hit with the strike and a projectile but that there is also a second lighting beam.

By understanding the ideal positioning for this attack, you can hit twice with each strike, significantly boosting your damage.

The two gear pieces that are required for this build are the Yoke of Suffering amulet and the Soul Ascension gloves. The Yoke of Suffering increases the damage you do to enemies based on how many types of ailments are on them. The Soul Ascension gloves grant you stacks of Soul Eater when you hit, increasing your cast speed and attack speed.

Lightning Strike Deadeye leveling

Although this Path of Exile Ranger build is one of the more difficult to min-max in the late game, it is fairly simple to set up for leveling. By utilizing the bow and claw weapon types in the early game, you will be able to trivialize the complexity of the build and playstyle.

Due to the fact that melee tends to be especially weak in early Acts, you'll want to start by using a bow for your Lightning Strike Deadeye character. You'll be using the bow weapon type until you unlock an additional strike around Act 6.

The first skill you'll want to use for your bow is Galvanic Arrow, until around the time you've taken the passive Point Blank. At this point, you'll want to switch from Galvanic Arrow to either Rain of Arrows or Lightning Arrow depending on your preference.

Once you've unlocked the Non-Vaal skill additional strike node, you'll need to respect all invested bow nodes to take Claw nodes. After you've invested in these parts of the skill tree, you'll want to take Lightning Strike as your main gem. You'll also want to slot Anger, Added Cold, and Trinity Support when your gear allows for it in Path of Exile Settlers of Kalguur.

From here, your build will be sufficient to hit level 70 without issue, at which point you'll be ready to transition to the endgame.
