RuneScape's video game developer and publisher Jagex has teamed up with runescape gold tabletop gaming giant Steamforged Games to create a core book of board games and tabletop RPGs inspired by RuneScape's rich fantasy world of Gielinor. Both games will debut in 2022, with the board game launching on Kickstarter and the TTRPG coming directly to the store.
The games will draw on adventures, characters and locations from RuneScape's 21-year-long history, and the board game will have one to five players go through quest-based activities through Gielinor. They'll craft and upgrade equipment, improve their character skills, cook special recipes, interact with NPCs, and test their skills as they explore different parts of the world, distracting and entertaining them along the way with a variety of enticing side quests .
The TTRPG will include a richly illustrated hardcover core book containing the rules for players to run the RuneScape tabletop role-playing game, where they can build their characters, explore Gielinor and create unique and exciting quests. The TTRPG Core Book is also fully compatible with the RPG Board Game 5th Edition rule set.

Steamforged Games also revealed the first look and key details of the Dark Souls tabletop RPG due in Spring 2022.
Steamforged, which first premiered in December with a surprising trailer, now confirms that Dark Souls: The Role-Playing Game will be a standalone RPG powered by Fifth Edition rules rich in Dark Souls mechanics.
Drawing on the wealth of lore and award-winning gameplay from From Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment's Dark Souls video game, in the gorgeously illustrated hardcover core book, players will find custom character classes, an all-new magic system, and a complete Dark Souls-filled core book. To date, Steamforged's Dark Souls tabletop series has sold over 500,000 units with a total retail value of nearly $40 million.
