This was initially rejected because the requirement to modify these old codes from 2007 seemed too difficult. But Old School RuneScape continued to grow and break the record for concurrent players, and in October 2019, Jagex announced that it had begun developing a game mode called Group Ironman. The community celebrated the potential future of Old School RuneScape, but Jagex never gave a clear release date.

Thanks to moderator comments and community suggestions, the history of RuneScape is full of seemingly endless possibilities for additions. Developers regularly conduct polls in the game to allow players to vote on possible updates. A recent example is the poll conducted around the RuneScape HD mod, which has passed the voting stage.
